Refunds & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 18 July 2026
This policy applies to paid subscriptions for services of Merethion (OPC) Private Limited, including the Akriva platform (akriva.ai). All payments are processed in Indian Rupees through our payment partner (Razorpay).
1. Try before you pay
Akriva offers a free trial so institutes can evaluate the platform — generating papers, conducting a test and reviewing analytics — before paying anything. We encourage every customer to use the trial fully before subscribing.
2. Cancelling a subscription
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from within the product or by writing to support@merethion.com.
- Cancellation stops future renewals. Your plan remains active, with all features, until the end of the billing period already paid for.
- No further charges are made after cancellation takes effect.
3. Refunds
First subscription — 7-day assurance
If you are subscribing to a paid plan for the first time and the Services do not work as described, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your first payment. Write to support@merethion.com with your institute name and payment reference.
Renewals and subsequent periods
Fees for renewal periods are non-refundable once the period has begun, except as required by law. To avoid an unwanted renewal, cancel before your renewal date — you will retain access until the period ends.
Always refunded
- Duplicate payments — charged twice for the same period: the duplicate is refunded in full.
- Failed transactions — money debited but subscription not activated: refunded in full if activation cannot be completed.
- Billing errors on our part — corrected and refunded in full.
4. How refunds are processed
- Approved refunds are initiated within 7 business days of approval.
- Refunds are made to the original payment method via Razorpay. Depending on your bank or card issuer, the amount typically reflects within 5–10 business days of initiation.
- Any taxes charged on a refunded amount are refunded alongside it, subject to applicable GST rules.
5. What refunds do not cover
- Partial, pro-rata refunds for unused time or unused paper quota within a billing period;
- Charges older than the periods described above, except where required by law;
- Suspension or termination of an account for material breach of the Terms & Conditions.
